I am a born crammer. I always wait for the pressure to really sink in before I feel the need to sit down, open my book and seriously study. When do I feel pressured? Well.. for normal exams, it's a day before the big test.. for the Pharmacy Licensure exam, it's around a month before. I've been like this for as long as I can remember. Honestly, I do not know what is wrong with me.
For the MBA exam though, I can proudly say that I've been studying at least once a week for the past month now. The pressure and motivation stem from the fact that I have very limited business background both theoretically and practically. So when I suddenly felt the urge to study Math or Accounting for the first time in years, I held tightly to that feeling.
At first I got zero resources so I started to look for free modules online. I only got a few good Math and Syntax reviewers as most sites turned to be bogus. Some keywords I used with favorable results were:
UPCAT slideshare
Kaplan GMAT 4shared
GMAT 4shared - for The Official Guide to GMAT and Kaplan practice test
Fortunately, my friend's brother has a Kaplan GMAT which I am currently studying. GMAT stands for Graduate Management Admission Test which aims to assess the skills of the taker on the following skills: analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, reading and comprehension. It is usually used to aid graduate business schools in their admission decisions. So if you want to get into a good B school, then you must take your GMAT seriously. From what I heard, the MBA entrance exam is similar to the GMAT.
I liked Kaplan GMAT because it treats its readers as if it is their first time to learn the subject. The explanations are simple and easy to understand. It does not assume in any way that you already know even the most basic math like Arithmetic or Pre-algebra. (Mind you, the questions in the book can be tricky). At the same time, Kaplan GMAT is also able to tailor its contents to those who already know Math but are more concerned on developing their testmanship. It is loaded with strategies and helpful advice that you would definitely want to equip yourself with.
P.S.: Leave your email address if you want a soft copy of the reviewers I got online. I'll pitch in a couple of practice exams from my books too! UPDATE 08.2018 - Sorry guys, the 4shared link I have isn't working anymore. But feel free to share in your comments below if you see any useful links from the internet! |
