Cherry eye can lead to the gland becoming inflamed and irritated thus leading to a high risk of infection. I noticed Hushie's right eye is bloodshot and glassy with some crusts for about two weeks already. I decided to take him for a check up before it gets any worse.
This is one of the reasons I miss our old home in UP Village. The doctors and trainees are skilful and very nice. The price is affordable. Their consultation fee is only 150 pesos. I had to pay an additional 300 for the blood test done on Hushie but that's cheap too! However, my boyfriend who's just finished his internship in PGH argued otherwise. He was telling me that labs done on human patients cost only 60 pesos. Even so. I think what I paid at UP Vet is modest. And the best part? I didn't have to shell out money for meds because they gave Hushie a physician's sample. It was an ophthalmic solution which is a combination of antibacterial and steroid. By the way, their pharmacy has been shut down. Not sure when it will be open again for business. Too bad.
