The big move will be in April 2016 and along with another colleague, I was chosen to be a Change Ambassador who will represent the medical department. But anyway, this post will really be more for personal reasons - so I can better prepare myself for the things that I will be needing when I move in to the new place.
So to ready myself for a whole new change, here's my initial list of things to prepare (who am I kidding, list of things to buy, haha):
We will be issued a smaller laptop that conserves space and is portable. Aside from its basic function, this will also serve as an identifier even from afar that hey! that's my laptop. I'm thinking of getting the hot pink since it will make a perfect contrast to our black lenovo thinkpad.
2. Microwavable Lunch Box
I've heard feedback from different people that food in BGC is relatively more expensive than in Makati. Also, it will be a bit time-consuming having to take the elevator just to have lunch since I will be working in the 20th-something floor as opposed to now where I only take the stairs since our department is in the 2F. With those factors in mind, I would definitely need to consider brining a baon to work. A good investment and a cutie too. So proud. Haha.
3. Heavy-Duty / TSA Lock
Since goodbye own cabinets/drawers/desk, we will be provided a small locker to keep our valuables and personal belongings after office hours. I still prefer bringing my own lock though, instead of trusting those lockers with built-in ones. Paranoid freak alert, I know.
4. Storage Basket
To keep my stuff in the locker organized and to easily carry it around the Office.
5. More Organizing Tools!
About the 5S Office..
The phases of 5S are Sort, Set/Straighten, Shine, Standardize and Sustain.
Sort - Eliminate clutter by sorting out what is not needed
Set - Organize and label; set boundaries
Shine - Clean everything inside & out
Standardize - Keep checklists and standards to maintain the first 3S's
Sustain - Maintain discipline through systems & a supportive culture
What best way to implement a 5S office with these ever-reliable organizers right?
Already very excited to grab these amazing office helpers! Plus super looking forward to working in our new home! sans the terrible everyday commute though (yes I direly need to put that on record). But.. well, I have to stay positive. =p See you soon my new love, BGC <3
